MEMOROLL (the "App") is provided and operated by RESONANCE, K.K. ("we", "us"). Development and support are handled by our development division, RESDEV (resdev.jp).

02 Information handled and where it is stored
The App handles the following information, all of which is stored only on your device. We never receive it.

Attached photos are reduced to JPEG with a long edge of 1600 pixels when saved. This is done on the device.
03 Location
- Location is used only so you can look back at where a note was written on a map. It is captured once when you write a note; there is no continuous tracking.
- Capturing location requires your permission on the device. If you decline, or turn off "Record location" in Settings, you can still write notes without location.
- Recorded coordinates are stored with the note on your device and are never transmitted.
04 Photos and camera
Photos are attached through the standard iOS picker (take a photo / choose from library / choose from Files). The App does not request access to your entire photo library; only the images you pick are handed to the App. Camera permission is requested only if you choose to take a photo on the spot.
Permission to add to your photo library is requested only when you choose to save a note's photo to the Photos app.
05 Backups and export
- Copy to iCloud Drive (on by default): each time you write, the latest notes and photos are copied to the "MEMOROLL" folder in your own iCloud Drive. The weekly automatic backup (ZIP) is placed in the same folder. These live in the iCloud storage of your Apple account, not on our servers, and we have no access to their contents. Their handling is subject to Apple's policies. Both can be turned off in Settings; turning one off deletes the corresponding data from iCloud Drive.
- Once a week the App creates an automatic backup (ZIP) in its Documents folder on the device (the latest three are kept).
- You can export all your data as a ZIP at any time and send it anywhere via the share sheet. Choosing and managing the destination is up to you.
- The App's data is included in standard iOS backups (iCloud Backup and computer backups). If you turn off both the iCloud Drive copy and the iCloud Drive backup, the App excludes its notes, photos and database from standard iOS backups so that nothing leaves the device.
- The share feature passes the text and images of a note you choose to an app you choose.
06 External services
The App communicates with external services only in the following cases.

There is no account or sync server. The iCloud Drive copy uses storage that Apple provides to you; it does not pass through our servers.
07 Advertising, tracking and analytics
The App shows no advertising. It includes no advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs (including Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) and never sends usage or crash data to us or to third parties.
Because the App does nothing that falls under iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT), no tracking prompt is shown.
08 Deleting your data
You can delete notes and photos in the App at any time. Uninstalling the App deletes the database, images and automatic backups on the device. Copies in the "MEMOROLL" folder of iCloud Drive can be removed by turning off the copy in Settings, or by deleting them yourself in the Files app. ZIPs you exported and copies inside standard iOS backups are managed by you at their respective locations. Since we hold no data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
09 Disclosure to third parties
We do not disclose information to third parties except in the following cases:
- With your consent
- Where required by law
- Where necessary to protect a person's life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain your consent
10 Device features and permissions
- Location (while in use): recording where a note was written (optional)
- Camera: taking a photo to attach on the spot (optional)
- Add to photo library: saving a note's photo to the Photos app (optional)
- iCloud Drive: copying to your own iCloud Drive (on by default; can be changed in Settings)
- Internet: loading map background data
11 Children's privacy
The App is not directed at any particular age group and does not actively collect personal information from anyone. If a child uses the App, please do so under a parent's or guardian's supervision.
12 Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy when laws change or features are added. Material changes will be announced on this page or on the App's store page. The revised policy takes effect when it is posted here.
